Recruitment Process

One key factor in making a successful application is preparation. We believe that the more you know beforehand, and the longer you've had to think about what will be expected of you, the better your chances will be. We've put together the following section to assist and guide you through our selection process.

Stage 1 - Applying for the Role

If you believe your skills and experience match those required for our vacancy simply click on the relevant link at the bottom of each job description to apply.

Stage 2 - Short listing

Your application will be considered against the qualifications, skills, experience and competencies that are necessary for the successful undertaking of the role.

Stage 3 - Telephone Interview

If your application has been successfully short listed you will be invited to conduct a short competency based telephone interview.

The competency framework defines knowledge, skills, attributes and behaviour that are required to produce individual results that contribute to the overall performance of the business.

Stage 4 - Face to Face interviews with Hiring Managers from HBOS

In these more traditional question-and-answer interviews, you'll be asked to talk about specific experiences you've had in work environments and answer more specific competency based questions.  You’ll also get the opportunity to meet the teams, see the working environment and talk through your requirements in more detail.

Stage 5 - Testing
Our tests challenge you to think logically and analytically as well as provide us with more information about your experience and work preferences. Depending upon the position you're seeking, you may take one or more tests that assess your ability to do the following:
